The Healing Spirit of the Drum

Sedona Creative Life Center
333 Schnebly Hill Road
Sedona, AZ 86336

We all had such a good time in September that we have scheduled another drumming!
February 27 2010 from 7:00 to 8:30 pm in the Sedona Room, contribution, $25 per person, at the door.

Drumming is an ancient tradition in many cultures and is a natural way to align with the most primal rhythm in nature, the heartbeat. As people beat their drum or beat the large drum in the circle with Standing Deer they begin naturally to align with the rhythm of their neighbor's drum. You become the drum as you participate in its healing vibration. Standing Deer is a Tiwa Indian from Taos Pueblo in New Mexico and the son of a Medicine man. He is a musician and composer of native music as well as a painter. Frequently the needs and dilemmas of individuals within a group come to him as he sings. As he sees and feels their concerns his spirit helpers work with theirs to release their healing power within. Standing Deer has traveled extensively in Europe and the United States. He has drummed with the Dali Lama and in South Korea with John Dumas (Winter Hawk) for world peace. He is the only Native American invited to do a blessing and drumming within the ancient Neolithic stone circle, Stonehenge, in England. He has visited Italy twice to do drummings and workshops.
