Indigenous Guadalupe

Here the Guadalupe is presented as a Pueblo woman dressed in a red manta with the cloak of stars. La Nuestra Senora de Guadalupe is the Mother Goddess of the New World. She first appeared to a Mexican Indian man on a mound dedicated to the Aztec mother goddess Tonanzin, and announced that she was Mary the blessed mother of God and wished for a temple to be built in her honor. She is a feminine healing force with potential to heal the terrible chasm between the Indigenous people and the ones who brought expoitation and destruction from the old world. She bridges worlds separated by bloody conflict and misunderstanding. Her aura is the brilliance of the lifegiving Sun, and she stands upon the cresent Moon of a new beginning. The New World is here now, for those who know.
