Indigenous Guadalupe

La Nuestra Senora de Guadalupe is the Mother Goddess of the New World. She is presented here as a Pueblo woman dressed in a red manta her shawl is a cloak of stars. She first appeared to a Mexican Indian man on a mound dedicated to the Aztec mother goddess Tonanzin, and announced that she was Mary the blessed mother of God and directed that a temple be built in her honor. She is a feminine healing force with potential to heal the terrible chasm between the Indigenous people and the ones who brought exploitation and destruction from the old world.
